MU Alert Update: Suspects in robbery: 2 black males dressed in red. Late-teens to early-20s. One has dreadlocks/other is bald. Last seen going east on Hospital drive in 2-door silver car. Stay away. MUPD investigating

MU Alert: Robbery near Hospital Dr. and Tiger Ave. Stay away from or leave the area. Police are responding. Update to follow.

On Tuesday, July 17, the University of Missouri Police Department arrested Rex A. Monroe on suspicion of filing a false police report (RSMO 575.080).

NAME: Rex Albert Monroe
AGE: 28
DATE OF BIRTH: Aug. 4, 1989
RESIDENCE: Columbia, Mo.

Monroe was arrested in connection to a report he made earlier in the day involving a robbery near Hospital Drive. When police arrived, Monroe made conflicting statements about the timeline of events, the items taken and the location of the vehicles involved.

An MU Alert was issued in response to Monroe’s initial report. Police continue to investigate the incident.
