Columbia Police still continue to investigate the sexual assault case that occurred near Providence Road and Stewart Road. CPD has released that the location was near/at the Flat Branch Park area and that the victim is a 14 year old female. For further updates on this case please see the Columbia Police Department media releases and or their Twitter and or Facebook accounts. Campus is back to operating under normal conditions.

6:00 p.m

Columbia Police continue to investigate the sexual assault case that occurred near Providence Road and Stewart Road. All local law enforcement personnel continue to search for the suspect. The suspect has not been identified or arrested as of this update.

4:28 p.m.

Columbia Police are investigating a reported sexual assault that happened about 2:30pm near Providence Road and Stewart Road in a wooded area near the MKT underpass. The female victim is not an MU Student. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 40s, 6ft, with a thin build and a mole on his forehead. Columbia Police are currently investigating the case. It is believed that the suspect has left the area.
