Active Threat, Suicidal Subject

Law enforcment has located the subject involved off campus. The subject is safe and there is no further threat to campus.

12:44 p.m.

In an abundance of caution and as the search for the subject has become prolonged, it is recommended the campus community do one of the following:

  • If you are on campus, shelter in place.
  • If you are not on campus, avoid campus.

Unless you have an emergency, please do not call MUPD as they are working hard to confirm facts and maintain the safety of the campus.

12:23 p.m.

MUPD recommends that all campus community avoid the White campus area, if at all possible.

12:21 p.m.

Local law enforcement continues to search for the subject involved in the White Campus area.

12:08 p.m.

Last information received, the subject was believed to be in the White Campus area.

Subject involved is further described as mid to late-twenties, black female, black Mizzou hoodie with gold lettering, grey undershirt, flip flops. 5 foot 4 inch, 120 lbs.

Columbia Police and MUPD are actively searching for the subject involved.

11:38 a.m.

Subject is possibly near Memorial Union.

11:30 a.m.

Columbia police are investigating a suicidal female subject who is reported to have a handgun and was last seen walking east on Locust Street from Hitt Street. Subject is described as black female wearing a Mizzou hoodie and brown pants and wearing flip flops. It is possible she was last seen in the area of the MU Chemistry building.
